Kids Corner

This is a PLEA to YOU our FUTURE GENERATION

PLEASE ASK MUM and DAD TO LOG ONTO DOVE WEBSITE and GET INVOLVED and help DOVE in what ever way they can. It may sound silly but it is the support of YOU, your FAMILY and friends that will stop this incinerator.

Here's a little story that might help you understand why:

Brighton & Hove City Council and East Sussex County Council think that you don't care about the proposed Newhaven Incineration plan and that you're happy for them to build a big stinky Incinerator in Newhaven that will burn day and night.

The incinerator will have a big chimney which will release lots and lots of nasty smoke into the air that blows over our homes, gardens, schools, shops, playgrounds and streets. This nasty smoke will contaminate the air we breathe in every day, it can travel over many miles so that thousands of people will breathe in this air too.

Out of the chimney will blow tiny particles of dangerous toxic ash, which people can't see because they are so tiny. Theses tiny particles are very dangerous for us to breathe in and could make us very ill. These tiny particles float in the air and then fall on to our countryside and into our gardens, which after a while will contaminate our land and the vegetables we grow. Our animals who feed off the land will become contaminated with the toxic waste from the incinerator, through the grass that they eat off the land where the nasty smelly smoke has blown.

This doesn't have to happen! With your support and that of your parents, we can tell the Councils that we DEMAND a healthier solution to dealing with our waste! By writing letters and attending demonstrations we can show them that we care! Do tell your parents to visit the website, keep up to date with news and HELP DOVE protect our future air.

'What a whopper' now you can judge for yourself the size of the incinerator building, if you compare it to our local (large) Sainsburys Supermarket (by Denton corner) you can see that it will be a MONSTER of an (incinerator) building. The roof height alone is equivalent to 8 double decker busses piled on top of each other, and then on top of the roof there will be two 200ft chimmneys that will chuck out smelly and dangerous smoke.

The MONSTER building length is at least 3.5 times the size of Sainsbury's. There will be loads of large industrial rubbish lorries travelling to and from Newhaven every single day of the year (approx 200 per day) for at least 25yrs bringing 1000s of tonnes of horrible smelly and dangerous rubbish to burn.

These smelly rubbish lorries will cause traffic jams at peak times of the day as they will clogg up our small roads leading to Newhaven.

These smelly rubbish lorries will be giving out toxic fumes through their vehicle exhaust systems to pollute the air we breath and cause further damage to the ozone layer.

Make sure you to show this diagram to your mum, dad, grannies granddads and all your family and friends, so that they can see for themselves what is coming to Newhaven if Onyx (the incinerator/rubbish company) get their way.

Thanks for your support over and out.
